The highlight of 2020

2020 Legal Interpreting Training Was a Huge Success!
We had our 3rd annual Legal Interpreting Training at the Stetson University College of Law in Gulfport, FL, from February 28 - March 1, 2020, this was a huge success!
We would like to extend our gratitude to our wonderful speakers from Hallenross & Associates, LLC, Ben Hall and Linda Ross, and wonderful presenter from the Stetson University College of Law, Professor of Law, Jason Palmer, for their contributions to our legal training!
We had 50 certified sign language interpreters from across the country, including 12 Certified Deaf Interpreters (CDIs)! The three-day training included a full day of criminal/civil comparison, criminal trial process, roles of courtroom participants, consecutive interpreting, addressing the court, understanding the team roles and importance of each role, and preparing for the mock trial case.
Stetson's Trial Team had the opportunity to prepare for the competition on Sunday's mock trial. We had a prosecutor team and defense attorney team with a Deaf witness.
We would also like to thank our Partners for their generous support.
